FAQs

Will my dog be in a kennel?

Yes, when they are not working, they will be sleeping in kennels at night and while driving to ensure safety.

Are lessons only one day a week?

Lessons are once a week, every Saturday, for 1 hour.

Will my dog listen to me after the board and train?

Do you accept payment plans?

Currently, we do not have any specific payment plans. We structure payment plans by having our clients pick a month that works best for them financially, and they can pay through a link as little or as much as they would like. The invoice needs to be paid in full by pick-up time.

Do you work on potty training during board and train programs?

Yes, potty training is constantly being worked on throughout the programs.

Is there a required deposit?

Yes, we require a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot.

What is balanced training?

Balanced dog training refers to an approach that combines both positive reinforcement techniques (like treats, praise, and toys) with corrections (like leash pops or verbal reprimands) to guide a dog's behavior. The idea is to "balance" rewards for good behavior with consequences for undesired behavior. This method provides a clear communication system for the dog, helping them understand what they should do and shouldn't.

What will my dog need during their stay?

We have everything covered, from treats to toys, bowls, and crates. All we need from you is a supply of dog food for the entire stay and any medication or supplements your dog might currently be on.

Will the e-collar hurt my dog?

E-collar is a training tool. Just like we can take a hammer and build something beautiful, we can take that same hammer and cause some damage. It’s essential when using the e-collar to receive proper training and guidance on how to utilize this training tool. Moreover, this is a TENS unit similar to the ones we utilize for physical therapy. Our doctors would never start on high and work their way down. Neither do we with the dogs. Again, proper use and education of any training tool is essential.

Can we visit during the board and train?

Yes! We will be meeting with you a few times in the middle of the board and train for training sessions with your dog. This allows a smooth transition of listening to commands from the trainer to mom and dad while also providing you time with your fur baby throughout training!

Where does my dog stay during the board and train?

Your dog will stay with us in a temperature-controlled room next to our family room. This allows us to see behaviors similar to the ones you see in your own home, such as counter surfing, bolting out the door, barking at neighbors, etc. This also allows us to interact with them in ways you would with cuddle times on the couch, or maybe you don’t want them on the couch without permission, and we can work on that, too! Just more ways for customizable training!

Will we receive updates? If so how often?

Absolutely! We update our clients on Google photos Monday-Friday. On top of seeing your dog a few times throughout the program, you will also get pictures and videos of your dog's progress daily!
